Sound detectives...

Here is an excellent article (complete with audio) about research being done on detecting the health of a hive by its sounds and sound levels. It also makes clear the importance and contributions of bees to agriculture, to the environment and to our world in general. 1. Very interesting article. I bet it was even better with sound!! Wish I could have heard the humming, etc. Apparently bees are deaf? Fascinating that they respond to the vibrations though. Makes me wonder if that process could be made to work with deaf humans?? Anyway, will you be getting a monitor for your hives? The recorded humming might be a great sleep aid as well -- like the whale sounds. One thing I learned from this posting was how to cut and paste. I am always being told to do that but never understood how to manage it -- old age is a chore, LOL. Anyway, I actually did it with this. Thanks.
